BABA COFFEE IN CARLSBAD

aba Coffee is the cutest coffee shop I've been to yet! It's located in Carlsbad, CA on state street. Inside it's filled with natural light, and cute little bar top tables to study. My mom took me over the weekend and it was so fun to just sit and chat. I ordered my usual lol, a black iced tea and donut!


I absolutely love Carlsbad, I've always said I could seriously live there. One of these days I'll have to put together a little guide for this awesome beach town, because there are so many places left on my list to visit.

Believe it or not, I actually don't have much to say in today's post. I found this quote on Pinterest today that really made me wonder so I'll leave you with it as well..."You are not the reflection of those that can't love you."

COFFEE DATE 

My bestie from Oregon was home for four days for Thanksgiving, which called for many much needed visits together, including this cute coffee house date! There truly is nothing like having your friend right across the table from you, chatting about life, instead on a laptop screen via video chat. Since both my best friends are in college out of state, it's given me a much deeper appreciation for the art of conversation face-to-face, especially over coffee. 

I am so glad Emily doesn't mind taking a few snaps of me because this place was darling inside. Couldn't get enough of the wooden bookshelves, and bar top sitting. Unfortunately it was a gloomy day, so their big open windows didn't make much difference in my photographs (unless you were by the windows for natural light) but I still think you get the picture of this place as a whole, no matter the lighting situation.

East Coffee just opened up in my town, and it's one that I'll definitely being going back to. The service was beyond friendly, and helpful (always a plus in CA). I ordered a black iced tea with peach flavoring and a chocolate chunk muffin which was so delicious. Emily had the white chocolate peppermint latte and said it was super tasty. Other than the huge windows, and beautiful wood pieces, each table had a two conversation cards. Emily and I actually asked each other the questions and it was so fun! Overall, loved this coffee shop and I think this might be my new study spot!

THE COFFEE COTTAGE

 

In Newburg, Oregon I believe I saw over twenty coffee shops within four blocks in downtown! This darling little coffee house happened to be my favorite because the coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere was like nothing I've experienced before! Starbucks is so overrated, and it was so nice to have a break from the usual, you know? The Coffee Cottage is actually a tiny old house, with a great outside patio which is what you see in photos. Oregon is definitely known for their unique coffee places, and this one deserved a whole post, so enjoy! 

My intension when visiting was to order a latte everywhere I desired coffee, however that didn't go as planned. My instagram theme needed a little latte art, but I never felt in the mood for something hot due to migraines. Hence, the caramel iced coffee! Definitely the best cup of iced coffee I ordered all over Newburg & Portland. 

The outside patio was my favorite spot, because the scenery was beautiful! The cracks in the pebbled sidewalk, and the wood fences had moss growing everywhere. Oregon is very chilly but somehow it felt so refreshing while enjoying my friends company and conversation! If you ever have a change, or live in Newburg then I hope one day you can experience the wonderful vibe at the Coffee Cottage!!
