a day at the cafe

Friday morning I spent a few hours at a café with a special friend. There's just something about sitting in a café and smelling the fresh brewed coffee. I love being able to sit and share wonderful conversations with my friends. To me sitting in a café while drinking my favorite coffee and listening to jazz music (Michael Buble) is so peaceful and relaxing! do the impossible

Everything with God is possible. Absolutely everything. Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Sometimes I have dreams of helping people around the world, or wanting to do something extraordinary for people. Some days I think to myself it would be an amazing experience to take one year off after college and join a bible college group up in Hume Lake to travel to different places for mission trips and to seek God even more. I would love to start a ministry to help kids who don't have shoes, or food, or even clothing. To help those who are sick and in need of medical care. Sometimes I think that my dream of helping and starting this ministry is just too impossible. No way could I at sixteen start a ministry like that for people around the world. No way could I move to a different country or state to go preach God's word. But nothing is too big for the Lord. Nothing is impossible with him. With praying and seeking his word I know he will show me the way. I have always been amazed at missionary work and loved the idea of being such a help for others. Who knows maybe God will call me into missionary work or maybe he won't. I want to encourage you today not to put aside your dreams just because you think it is too big or too impossible. Matthew 19:26 "And Jesus looking upon them said to them, With men this impossible; but with God all things are possible."

summer storm

The sky began to change colors from blue to grey. the clouds rolled in covering the bright summer sun. the sky became grey and gloomy, with little rain drops falling down. it tried hard to rain but only a little drizzle did it make. about twenty minutes later the sun came out shining bright as ever, eventually making the sky bright and cheerful once again. soon after...the big dark clouds left and it no longer felt like a overcast winter day. oh how I love summer storms. they always make me appreciate the sun!

Dear Summer: i am so happy you are here, and I don't want you to ever end. i wish you could stay forever and ever. the weather you bring is perfect for the beach and ice cream. please don't go by fast.

Dear Followers: you really don't know how much you mean to me. you brighten up my day with every beautiful comment. without you guys i wouldn't be able to have so much fun posting. so thank you.

Dear Lily (my dog): you are the sweetest thing ever. i love how you jump up on the couch just to cuddle with me. you are always so playful and yet so loving. i thank God i have you by my side.

Dear Pinterest: i could spend all day just re-pinning every fashion, or recipe pin i see! i am completely obsessed and need to stop because i have about 12,000 pins, now how pathetic is that? although i have to say i am so happy I discovered you because i can find so many projects and many cool ideas.

Dear Bare Minerals: i am in love with every single one of your eye shadows. i could go crazy in your store and spend hundreds. eye shadow and just makeup in general seems to be my obsession lately, and i am so happy i just bought three new eye shadows. putting on my make-up in the morning seems to be the new highlight of my day! :)

life lately

My life lately has been very fun and busy. It is summer which means many special memories are being made with friends and family! I have been able to accomplish many of my goals for this summer, which I am extremely happy about. Here are a few things I've been up to....

Currently Reading..."Kisses for Katie." It is a book about a Christian girl who just graduated high school and wanted to go on a missions trip to Africa with her mom right after she graduated. She fell in love with Africa and the people around her that she was able to bless and help. She felt like God really was calling her to go and serve there, so she did. Everything fell into place and she was able to go to Africa and be a preschool teacher because a proper education is very poor there and not common, so she wanted to help any child she could. She continues to talk about her life in Africa and her struggles and blessings there. She talks about how God keeps working in her life. I love this book so much because for me it is like a mini devotional story. It is an amazing book and I love the way she writes. I would encourage you to go and buy it, believe me you won't regret it.

Watching... I am completely loving old British movies. I love almost everything I see on BBC which is an old channel that plays British TV series. My absolute favorite movie right now is North & South, ah it is just so good!

Proud of... I have been totally committed to my 30 day fitness challenges! My goal for these next two months have been to strengthen my muscles and become more healthy. and to be honest I keep surprising myself on how much I love the feeling of the sweat dripping down my face because that is the feeling of a successful day!

Loving... My special times with my friends and family. It seems like everyday I've been able to hang out with friends, go to the movies, visit the beach, and go shopping (my favorite ha-ha).

-spent time with an old friend, Marisa.

-went for a jog/run, and it felt so good, (I need to do that more often).

-hung out with my friend Amy & Starbucks.

-i saw Despicable me 2, and it was amazing

-my sis and I before the angels game for the Fourth.

-a peach iced tea that felt so refreshing especially in this summers heat.

the ABC's of me

Today i thought i would share with you some random little "facts" about myself. I feel like sometimes you are not able to know the "real" me. When blogging you can discover little things about me like my fashion sense, favorite recipes, and faith, but there is another side of me you are not able to see simply because my personality is a little different when blogging. So im so excited to share with you some little ABC facts about myself, and in the future i hope to be doing more of these kinds of posts! Being personal on a blog i think is very important, so my goal is to do exactly that! Imperfect

I am imperfect. Yes that is something that I am always needing to remind myself. I am human, I am imperfect and I make mistakes. I fail, I fall, I say things I shouldn't, I let my pride get in the way, and I'm fearful. Could you imagine what our God would be like if he was imperfect just like me? Sometimes I look at being imperfect as a horrible and awful thing. But then God reminds that if I wasn't imperfect, I wouldn't need His strength, love, guidance, or peace. I wouldn't' need God's help, and I wouldn't need to seek his will for me. Embrace your imperfect nature, and lean on God. Isaiah 26:4 "Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock." When I say embrace your imperfect nature, I do not mean to love your sinful ways and party it up. I am simply saying that by embracing it you can see how much in need you are of a Savior. A Savior to save your life. A God who will love you just for you, mistakes and all. "It is better to put trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." Psalm 118:8    By embracing your imperfectness you rely on God's strength and wisdom for your life. We are all fallen and full of sin, but because of our Lord Jesus Christ he gave his life for us so that we could spend eternality with him. "Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."

Fourth of July is right around the corner! This year I decided to put together an outfit for this special occasion. What says "the fourth," better than stars and strips? Well here is an outfit that's super simple, yet very fun, and you can still wear it in the summer on a everyday basis. :)

 Okay so I hope I'm not the only one being confused about Google reader and GFC leaving? It's past July first and GFC is still here, so I'm assuming it was just Google reader leaving? Anyways so sorry about all the confusion about it. I know so many blogs had something different to say about it, and I just couldn't take that chance of losing so many followers.  So because Google reader is gone now that's why there is bloglovin', so I'm hoping Google friend connection will still stay!
