Everything in life is temporary, absolutely everything. Right now this is something that God has put on my heart. He is reminding me that in the end nothing else matters but Him. At times I can find myself having more pleasure or happiness from material things, instead of my happiness coming from God and his love for me. Sure there is nothing wrong with being happy about buying or having new/nice things, but when it becomes my everything I know that is not okay, because later none of it will matter. I do not want to make my material things become my main focus in life. I want to use my material items to please God and use it for his glory. If I spend so much time focusing on my material items I will never have time for the Lord. I want my joy, happiness, love, and contentment to come from God, rather than the things in the world. Everything in the world can only bring me temporary happiness or joy, not everlasting and fulfilling joy like God's. I want to find joy in the Lord rather than in the world because everything here on earth will not be with me in the end. "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18

DeleteYup, so very true. It's good to thank God for allowing us to buy such nice things but we musn't get attached to materials, like you said. It serves as a good lesson and also a good reminder. Thanks so much! :)

This is such a great reminder! Thanks for sharing! Also- what I've heard is it's just Google reader that's dissapearing, not GFC also. I think GFC will still be available on your dashboard and stuff. :-) I could be wrong, but I've read that on some other blogs. Anyways, blog lovin' is still great too! I'm following you there and thanks for following me!
