Witnessing

2.19.2013

For the first time I had the opportunity to go witnessing at the mall last Sunday. I have been wanting to witness for a while, but my fear of being rejected was holding me back. Many times I have wanted to go, but made plenty of excuses not to. This time was different. I really felt like the Lord was calling me to go. I knew that my fear or doubt of not knowing every answer was not a very good reason. So I finally went witnessing last Sunday! It was such an amazing experience. I was able to talk to about seven different people. I went around asking people one question... "What does it take to get to heaven?" It seemed like every answer they had was to get into heaven you needed to be a good person. They didn't understand that salvation is not by good deeds or good works that you have done. James 2:18 states "But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works." Talking to these people really gave me a heart for the lost. It made me realize how blessed I am to know the Lord. And also how important it is to spread the good news of God, because I am seeing that not many people know who Jesus Christ is. I am still in "awe" of how amazing my experience was. One of the ladies I talked with said she was a Christian! And she went to one of the churches near by that I have heard of before. I cannot describe how amazing it was to talk to a complete stranger, and yet have an overwhelming excitement knowing that we are sisters in Christ!! I am so thankful to have had this opportunity to go witness and look forward to many for opportunities to spread God's word. "John 13:34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another."

Goodbye

2.14.2013

Saying goodbye is never easy. Lately I have had to say goodbye to one of my very close friends...Kelly. She went to school with me, and I've know her for about three years now. My first semester with her at school has been absolutely amazing. Before we even started the school year I knew she had to leave after our first semester in school, but I never thought that this day would come, and having to say goodbye. The thought of going to school without having a close friend to talk to anymore, makes me sad. But I know that even though we are miles and miles apart, we will always be friends!

Kelly, I will be praying that you have a safe trip to the Philippians! I will be praying for you and your family, that the Lord will give you peace and comfort while having to leave behind your family and friends, your school, and everything you know here in the states. I pray that the Lord would bring you godly Christian friends who love the Lord. Thank you for being an amazing friend. I will always love and miss you...
Love,
  Jenna

Valentines {2013}

When I think of valentines day I often think of flowers, candy, hugs, pink, red, and kisses. It's a time when people can express their love. A time to show how much they care for someone. This all seems wonderful huh? Who doesn't love Valentines day?! Well this Valentines I realized that it's not about the gifts and the stuff but rather our true love, the one who first loved us...Jesus Christ. He loved us first by dying on the cross for our sins. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that whoever believes in him, shall not perish but have everlasting life." If God's love was an ocean there would be no land. God's love is so deep and so wide that we can't even begin to understand how much he cares. I am so blessed and grateful that my Valentine loves me so much more than I'll ever know! Happy Valentines Day!! <3

Skinny Monkey Cookies

2.04.2013

Here is a great cookie recipe when you are wanting something sweet, but still trying not to rack up the calories and sugar grams. At just 47 calories per cookie, and no sugar, you can't go wrong. To make this recipe a little sweeter I added a few chocolate chips. It gave it a great flavor, & it tasted so good with the bananas! Enjoy.

Ingredient's:

  • 3 bananas
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Dash of cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 cup of dark chocolate chips

  • Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Mash bananas in a large bowl and then stir in remaining ingredients. Let batter sit for about 15 minutes, then take a teaspoon and drop it onto a ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Bake 10-12 minutes.

I am super excited because I went driving for the first time with my dad! Ahh, it was such an awesome feeling, being behind the wheel. I was so happy I didn't go over any side curbs or run into any trees! Ha - ha.  Can't wait until my next lesson(:
