A few weekends back I made this cake because we were going to have company over, and let me just say this cake was a big hit! Its ridiculously easy to make and it taste delicious. What I love about this cake is that the frosting is actually cool whip, so it doesn't taste as rich and filling. I've been on a baking kick lately so new and easy recipes always seem to catch my eye. Cake tends to be a little on the boring and original side for me so I loved being able to add a fun twist to the dessert, by adding condensed sweetened milk, caramel and Butterfinger candy.
recipe
one box of chocolate cake, two Butterfinger candy bars, one 16oz of cool whip, and lastly one container of condensed sweetened milk. (you can also add chocolate chips in the cake-optional, I didn't just because I didn't have that ingredient in the house when I was making this dessert.)instructions
first you make the cake and then let cool for about a half an hour to let it sit. when the cake is done cooling poke little holes all around the cake, and then pour the condensed sweetened milk all over the cake. Let the cake be refrigerated for about 20 minutes, and then your ready to frost the cake with the cool whip and sprinkle the crushed Butterfinger candy, and you can drizzle the caramel syrup on top. EAT.
Oh, I love that! We make that for birthdays, only we call it Butterfinger Desert.
ReplyDeleteWe make our own whipped cream and we use vanilla pudding...also instead of chocolate cake we use Angel food it's at its absolute best when you make your own :)

ReplyDeleteThis cake looks so yummy. Chocolate cake is my favorite, and it must taste even better with the whipped cream, caramel syrup, and butterfinger. Jess is the baker in the family, and I'll have to let her know about this dessert. Thank you for sharing.
