LIFE LATELY

9.27.2017

here do I begin? So many things have been happening in my life, and it's a bit overwhelming to even type out this post if I'm being honest. College here at Vanguard has brought many highs and lows, which results to me being acting like a crazy, off tack, and bumpy, roller coaster at times.

The question that pops up everywhere is how do you like Vanguard? Well...one day I love it, the next wishing I never came. It's hard starting over, learning a new city, and making friends. Yet, I'm loving the opportunity to explore, and learn more about myself.

Missing: Home cooked meals. I think this is a given for college students, but my hype for the cafe is now completely gone.

Loving: My classes are absolutely amazing. All of them are english classes, which focuses around discussion and it reminds me so much of my high school days! It's stretching my thinking skills, and sharpening the way the I analyze a text.

Listening To: Lots of Nick Jonas. I went to an Angels baseball game, and he provided a post game concert...truly the best!

Excited For: Fantasia! It's the concert choir's huge production for Christmas time, and the most elaborate event of the year for us!

Watching: Gilmore Girls for the third time through now...oh how I love that show! Just the theme song alone makes me happy.

Exploring: Many local coffee shops in Orange County. I've been to two so far that I love, so I hope you won't mind the overload of coffee shop type vibes coming your way this semester.

Busy With: My journalism course. Many interviews, news stories, and column pieces are due every week and it's keeping me on my toes. I love writing, and it's really the only class that showcases so much essay work, so I'm soaking it all in right now!

  1. I can only imagine going to college so far away from home! I went to a state college, which meant that I was about an hour and a half from my folks. It was just far enough away to feel independent, but not so far that I couldn't go home often. Here's hoping that you settle in more and love it more with each day that passes!

  2. I was so lucky to go to college in my city, I didn't have to get used to a new life, but it was a little bit difficult because I didn't know any of my colleagues. But, trust me, you will love this new episode of your like! I also love Gilmore Girls! Kisses

  3. Have so much fun girl! It is SO worth it! You will make friends and fall in love with this new city in time! I went to school in Arkansas (from CO) and it was the best. Obviously not easy at first but the fruits were SO many. I am proud of you! You got this!!! Praying for your college years!

  4. Exploring a new city can be overwhelming. It took me a few months to get comfortable when I moved from a tiny Alabama town to Denver. But I fell in love and it feels more like home than Alabama ever did!

  6. It sounds like you're settling in nicely--I love exploring local coffee shops while I travel (even though I'm not a coffee drinker). They my favorite kind of interior design inspo!

  7. It's ALWAYS hard to move somewhere new. No matter what! Give it 6 months, it will start to feel like 'home'.
Also, Tasty just did a little video on how to make breakfast sammies in a dorm! They looked delicious!

  8. Gilmore Girls is SUCH a good show to rewatch! My husband and I now are doing our yearly Scrubs marathon (a.k.a. a few episodes each night). Hope life at Vanguard gets better and better!

  9. Gilmore Girls is soo good! I watched it all the way through last year and am thinking of re-watching it again. Now the question...team Jess or team Logan?!

    1. Oh what a good question...I am team Logan only because I love his character role, and looks. BUT Jess is the one who really loves Rory for who she is, and he doesn't try to change her.

What about you? Who do you go for? There's also Dean, but UGH (He's so annoying haha).
