UNBOXING MESSY BOX SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

5.05.2016

essy box is one subscription service I've always wanted to try out, and this month I had the chance to enjoy a typically unboxing for April! If you haven't heard of it before, it's created by the bloggers Emma & Elsie by A Beautiful Mess. Messy Box is especially for the scrapbook lover, and crafty gal. I was super impressed when I opened the package, everything is adorable, and great for many DIY's! I will use everything, which is uncommon for a subscription service, because there are always something that's not "you" or an item that fits your lifestyle, but that's not the case with this service. This months theme, is all about the weekend with a touch of french or girly decor. Super cute!

So here are some details about the box, it's $25 month to month, or $15 for a year commitment. Now, for me personally that's a lot when I don't know every months theme until I open the package, so committing to this service wouldn't be ideal, like I was with Happy Mail. The reason why I gave this a try for April was because I'm connected through A Beautiful Mess's email notifications, and they had a special limited offer, which was just pay shipping for April's box if you've never tried Messy Box before. So the entire box cost me $5! Steal right? It's promotions like this that really make it worth while, and is right to enjoy subscription services without going overboard, collecting junk, or braking the bank! All in all, I really loved the whole concept, and the type of items they provide every month! I just like knowing ahead of time, because again, I'm picky on every theme they have, some I love and others I think are horrible, and I loved to be surprised which I find I cannot do with the messy box.

When I ordered the messy box, I was thrilled, but then I thought what am I going to do with it all? I'm not really a scrapbooker, so that option is out. Yet, I thought it would be perfect for my Bible Journaling project, personal life list journal, and cork board for my bedroom decor. The options are limitless, which is why I love how they provide different sizes of paper, and die cut outs. The journal cards are the cute watercolor designed paper you see in the photos, which is my favorite! It comes with a roller stamp which has phrases on it like coffee break, the weekend, Saturday, weekend vibes, good times, Sunday, and a few more cute sayings. The stickers include alpha, and phrases similar to the roller stamp concept. Everything is just darling, and I can't wait to put it all to good use.

THE COFFEE COTTAGE

4.24.2016 Newburg, OR. USA

In Newburg, Oregon I believe I saw over twenty coffee shops within four blocks in downtown! This darling little coffee house happened to be my favorite because the coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere was like nothing I've experienced before! Starbucks is so overrated, and it was so nice to have a break from the usual, you know? The Coffee Cottage is actually a tiny old house, with a great outside patio which is what you see in photos. Oregon is definitely known for their unique coffee places, and this one deserved a whole post, so enjoy!

My intension when visiting was to order a latte everywhere I desired coffee, however that didn't go as planned. My instagram theme needed a little latte art, but I never felt in the mood for something hot due to migraines. Hence, the caramel iced coffee! Definitely the best cup of iced coffee I ordered all over Newburg & Portland.

The outside patio was my favorite spot, because the scenery was beautiful! The cracks in the pebbled sidewalk, and the wood fences had moss growing everywhere. Oregon is very chilly but somehow it felt so refreshing while enjoying my friends company and conversation! If you ever have a change, or live in Newburg then I hope one day you can experience the wonderful vibe at the Coffee Cottage!!

GEORGE FOX UNIVERSITY

3.21.2016 Newburg, OR, USA

Oregon, another state on my travel list!!! If you follow me on Instagram you will have already seen my spill on my visit in Portland, nevertheless it's about time I shared these beautiful photos from my trip here on the blog, (a.k.a my life journal)! I traveled to Newburg, Oregon to spend some girlfriend time with my childhood bestie who is attending George Fox University! It was a four day wonderful trip, so my adventures in this beautiful state was small, however I enjoyed my time there so much! This first post is all about the University I was able to experience on a deeper level because of Friday at Fox I signed up for, so here we go, a little personal review on George Fox.

George Fox University is absolutely gorgeous. While walking around campus, it felt like it belonged on a movie set because the buildings are just full of character and charm. Everything is green, lush, and moss makes the whole scenery come alive. It's something I've never experienced here in California, expect the mountains! I attended Friday at Fox, which allowed me to eat in the cafeteria, talk with a counselor, and sit in on classes. There are many things I loved about this college, like their outreach to the community. The college has many organizations students can be involved in to benefit the community such as mentoring/tutoring elementary students, cleaning up local parks, building projects, and many more! The whole staff and professors were so kind, and very welcoming. The classes are very small anywhere from 15-30 students which makes the conversation and atmosphere very personal and intimate. I only had one real meal in the cafeteria so I cannot give a fair comment on their food, but what I tried was very satisfying. George Fox has around two thousand students so the campus isn't overwhelming or easy to be get lost, but large enough to gain that sense of escape. I really enjoyed my time at this University, and there are many things aspects I treasured, so if your interested in the campus whatsoever, I would definitely recommend visiting because it truly helps the overall decision on what college is the best fit for you personally. I walked away with a new mindset on college, and also realizing what's important for my fit while I intend to transfer in one year!!
